Brzycki One-Rep Max Calculator
Use the Brzycki equation to estimate the heaviest weight you can lift for a single rep based on challenging sets of 2 to 10 reps.
Enter Your Lift
For best accuracy, use a heavy set in the 2 to 10 rep range.

How the Brzycki Formula Works
Formula
1RM = weight / (1.0278 - 0.0278 x reps)
Step-by-step
- Choose a lift and record the heaviest weight you can perform for several reps.
- Multiply the completed reps by 0.0278 and subtract from 1.0278.
- Divide the weight lifted by that value to estimate your one-rep max.
Notes
The Brzycki formula tracks closely with Epley for sets of 2 to 10 reps. Very high rep sets (above 10) add endurance bias and reduce accuracy.
